Naturalization Of Noa Leatomu And Estella Loupatty, Menpora: For 2026 Asian Cup Qualification And 2027 World Cup

The naturalization of two women's soccer players, Noa Leatomu and Emella Loupatty, is being accelerated in early November 2024.

According to the Menpora, Dito Ariotedjo, the two names are projected to appear in the 2026 Asian Cup Qualifiers and 2027 World Cup Qualifiers.

On Monday, November 4, 2024, the naturalization of Noa and Estella was approved by Commission XIII and X of the DPR RI. Furthermore, the file was discussed in the DPR Plenary Meeting on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

The naturalization of the two Dutch names was not without purpose. Dito said that it was intended so that they could defend the Indonesian Women's National Team in the 2026 Women's Asian Cup Qualification starting in mid-2025.

"It is certain to strengthen the Indonesian Women's National Team in the Asian Cup (2026) and qualify for the World Cup, towards the World Cup (2027)," Dito Ariotedjo said in a statement quoted on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

"Moreover, this is also very young. So, to strengthen in the future, it is still long," he said again about the potential of Noa and Estella.

Before appearing in qualifying, Noa and Estella will first compete in the 2024 Women's AFF Cup. This event will take place from November 23 to December 5, 2024 in Laos.

Reflecting on the naturalization that went smoothly, there is a possibility that Noa and Estella will undergo the oath of Indonesian citizen (WNI) along with Kevin Diks on November 7, 2024.

However, the process of taking the oath of Indonesian citizens may be separate. This will be adjusted to the situation and condition of the players.
