DPRD Asks Jakarta LRT To Create A Special Path For Persons With Disabilities

JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Nova Harivan Paloh, asked PT Jakarta Propertindo to create a special route for people with disabilities on the Jakarta Phase 1B LRT mode which is being built.

Nova asked PT LRT to finalize the design of facilities and infrastructure to make it easier for people with disabilities to enjoy transportation.

"Of course there must be a special route for people with disabilities," Nova said in Jakarta, Tuesday, November 5.

In addition, Commission B of the DKI DPRD also suggested that the Jakarta LRT route now being built to Manggarai could be extended to Dukuh Atas.

So, later Dukuh Atas will have the most transit access in Jakarta. Starting from MRT Jakarta, BRT Transjakarta, airport trains, commuter line trains, and the Jabodebek LRT.

"I want you not to just go to Manggarai, but to Dukuh Atas," said Nova.

Responding to this, the President Director of PT Iwan Takwin approved a proposal from Commission B regarding infrastructure for persons with disabilities.

Iwan said that his party would invite people with disabilities to the LRT trial stage, when the 1B Velodrome-Manggarai phase was completed.

"We will invite all of them with disabilities to try out facilities," said Iwan.

In addition, later there will be several officers equipped with additional abilities in the form of sign language. Because, this ability is very much needed by LRT users from the deaf group.

"Some personnel can communicate in sign language," added Iwan.
