Ruben Amorim Admits He Wanted To Go To Manchester City
Ruben Amorom admitted that it crossed his mind that he wanted to join Sporting CP Sports Director, Hugo Viana, to Manchester City.
His decision to replace Erik ten Hag comes just two weeks after Manchester City signed Viana in mid-October 2024 to replace Txiki Begiristain who will leave at the end of the season.
Amoritism revealed that initially he also thought of working at the Etihad Stadium.
"It was something that crossed your mind," Amorim said at a press conference on Monday, November 4, 2024, local time.
However, now the 39-year-old coach insists that his decision to join Manchester United will not be regretted.

"If the result is negative (against Manchester City), expectations will drop. If we win tomorrow, people will think the new Alex Ferguson has arrived and it will obviously be difficult to meet those expectations."
"I'm not interested in the conclusion people will draw. What I'm interested in is winning games and then starting a new life in Manchester."
