Pramono Will Not Allow KJP Budget To Be Diverted For Free Schools If He Wins The Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor Candidate number 3 Pramono Anung emphasized that he would not allow the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) budget to be diverted to run a free private school program if he won the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

This refers to the process of drafting the APBD for the 2025 fiscal year. Seeing the budget constraints, the DKI Provincial Government has opened the possibility that KJP will be removed so that schools can run for free next year.

According to Pramono, the DKI Provincial Government's educational assistance program, which has been running for years, must continue.

"What we will do is keep the KJP maintained, even expanded. As I promised the children (KJP holders) can see Monas, TMII, then Ancol (free)," said Pramono at the Senayan East Parking, Central Jakarta, Monday, November 4th.

Even if the DKI Provincial Government and the DPRD remove the KJP budget in the ratification of the 2025 APBD, Pramono, if he is the Governor of Jakarta, will return the KJP allocation in the APBD amendments.

"KJP right, as soon as we become governor, we have the right to refocus (adjustment) and also RAPBD (APBD design). It is certain that the KJP will not be deleted," said Pramono.

Currently, the Provincial Government and the DKI DPRD are fiddling with the allocation of the APBD draft next year to be able to run a free school program for private educational institutions in Jakarta.

Acting Assistant for People's Welfare of the Regional Secretariat of DKI Jakarta Province, Suharini Eliawati, admitted that her party mapped the free school budget from the KJP allocation which was diverted.

"We are currently discussing free schools together with our partners, the DPRD. If (the budget) is in accordance with the current KJP. Yes (the KJP budget is allocated for free schools)," said Suharini, Thursday, October 31.

However, many members of the DKI Jakarta DPRD do not agree if the KJP budget is removed. Deputy Chairman of Commission E of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Agustina Hermanto (Tina Toon) emphasized that free schools in 2025 can be run with new budgets without using KJP funds.

Because, according to Tina, the DKI Provincial Government will receive revenue-sharing funds (DBH) from the central government.

"Because there is a profit-sharing fund of an additional IDR 6 trillion, our budget is IDR 90 trillion now. cook, it's not possible, we can help the wider community? Don't do one new program for welfare, but the old program is turned off, it's suffering," said Tina.
