Franki Indrasmoro To Sandy Canester Will Appear At TIMFest 56, Taman Ismail Marzuki Anniversary Celebration

JAKARTA - Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) who celebrates its 56th anniversary will hold TIMFest 56, an art event that lasts four days at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta, 7-10 November.

This event will present various forms of art, such as traditional dances, modern theaters, traditional music to, modern music.

Not only from performing arts, TIMFest will also feature fashion shows, art culinary, independent film screenings from young filmmakers, poetry readings, to interactive art installations.

Ryan Kampua as Program Director for the Punye Gaye Betawi Stage said dozens of Indonesian musicians and music groups would be present to enliven the event.

"For the headliners, we have seats, Sandy Canester, and Franki Indrasmoro. In addition, there are also emerging musicians and several old faces as well," Ryan Kampua said during a press conference at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta, Monday, November 4.

On the Betawi stage, Punye Gaye, traditional music will also be displayed, especially Betawi music, to dangdut music performances.

Meanwhile, Anisa Nastiti as Chair of TIMFest and the Jakarta Arts Council of the Film Committee and the Philanthropic Commission said this year's event also presented a cultural speech delivered by film director Garin Nugroho.

Budayan speech is a forum for deep reflection of the development of culture, politics, and social in Indonesia. This event invites prominent figures to convey critical thinking and analysis of issues that influence the community. This year, Garin Nugroho will convey it in the theme Ethics, Art and Democracy," said Anisa Nastiti.

All activities presented at the TIMFest event are considered to be a reflection of the work and culture of Indonesian art, including efforts to promote the potential of DKI Jakarta cultural arts on a national scale so that it is better known and interpreted by the people.

"This activity is the development of the potential and creativity of young talents in carrying out cultural arts activities, as well as an event to provide forums for activities to be able to innovate as a form of effort to preserve cultural arts, foster a sense of enthusiasm and love for cultural arts," said Head of UP PKJ TIM, Arif Rahman.

Meanwhile, this year's TIMFest was held with the spirit to show TIM as a kawah candradimuka for Indonesian artists as well as hopes that this area can continue to make donations to the nation and state.

"Taman Ismail Marzuki is arguably more than just a meeting place. TIM is a living tribute to the spirit of Indonesian art," said the Head of the Jakarta Provincial Culture Service, lan Henry Wardhana.

"This is a stage where the past, present, and future meet, allowing new talents to connect with timeless traditions," said Head of the Jakarta Arts Council, Bambang Prihadi.

Furthermore, Anisa Nastiti invited all art lovers in Jakarta and its surroundings to attend the TIMFest 56 celebration to see firsthand the Indonesian art storefront.

"Because the show is free, we want to invite people to celebrate the legacy of Bang Ali Sadikin, which is intended for the meeting place for artists and art connoisseurs," he concluded.
