Spotify Uses Confusing 'Like' Button System
JAKARTA Spotify has removed the Suka button from the display of the song on its platform. Some users may feel that this button only changes icons, but in fact Spotify has changed its function.
Last year, Spotify still used a heart-shaped icon on the Suka button. This button can be used easily when users open the Now Playing view. If users like the song, they only need to press the icon next to the title song.
The green heart icon shows that users have liked the song and the song is stored on the special list of Songs they like. If the icon does not have color, then the user has not marked the song.
This function looks very clear and of course it is easier for users who often listen to songs from the Song List they like. Unfortunately, now users are faced with a different Suka sign system.
Reporting from How to Geek, Spotify has replaced the Suka button with an added sign and checkmark. The added sign shows that this song is not in the user's library, while the checkmark shows the opposite.
Some users may think that the checkmark leads to the Song List they like, but they don't. When the added sign is tapped, the song is directly stored in the Song you like, but this icon doesn't always lead there.

Basically, this icon shows that the songs that users listen to are in the Library, both in the Song List that they like and other playlists. To find out where the song is stored, users can click the checkmark on the song.
This way of working is quite confusing. If any user accidentally adds a song to their regular playlist, they may find it difficult to find the song on the Song List they like. It's not clear why Spotify decided to use this system.
Therefore, the Suka button sounds clearer because it only centers on the Song List you like. If users want to add it to another playlist, they can use the More option. Apparently, Spotify has no intention of changing this shortcoming.
