PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) at the GIIAS 2024 event last July has officially opened an order for the Offroad SUV model, iCar 03 or known as Jaecool J6 for the overseas market.

Interestingly, after being introduced to the name mentioned above, CSI changed the model under the name Chery J6. So what is the reason Chery changed the name, considering that his name was officially announced at the GIIAS grand exhibition last July.

"One of them is we see the suitability of the market, because abroad with the same car (iCar 03) using the name J6, both the Jaecool brand and others and in Indonesia using the Chery brand," said Head of Brand Department, PT Chery Sales Indonesia Rifkie Setiawan, when met in the Jakarta area, some time ago.

The man who is familiarly called Rifkie said CSI wants to be like a SEO language, for that to change the name of the Offroad SUV. In addition, there are other things that solidify CSI to change its name.

"So, another reason is because the brand name cannot be dual brands. In the automotive world, there are two groups divided, namely Chery International and Chery Automobile. For international Chery, there are Omoda brands, Jaecool and Chery Automobile, there are many brands, including iCar," he added.

For this reason, CSI decided to change the name iCar 03 to J6 and according to him, so that it is easy to remember and in line with other countries even though CSI uses a Chery brand.

"So that everything is in line," he explained.

Chery J6 Specifications

As previously reported by VOI, the specifications of Chery J6 made this car stand out on the streets. With a length of 4406 mm, 1910 mm wide, and 1715 mm high, Chery J6 is in the form of a multidimensional box with a spacious cockpit room.
