Quick Share On Android Devices Now Shows Percentage

JAKARTA Quick Share, a tool to quickly share files on Android devices, now displays a transfer status in the form of a percentage. This new feature Google added to clarify the file transfer process.

Previously, Quick Share on Android devices was known as Nearby Share. Since it was first launched, this tool has not clearly displayed the progress of file transfer. Users will only see an icon of progress in the circle.

If there are not many files sent, this circle-shaped transfer status will move quickly. However, if the files are moved sufficiently much, the circle will move slightly slower. This look will be visible on the sender and recipient device.

When compared to AirDrop's appearance for Apple-made devices, Quick Share interface is not very good. Apparently, Google realized a shortage of Quick Share interfaces so they started rolling out percentage status.

Once updated, Quick Share will display percentages on the screen, replacing the circle-shaped progress icon. This percentage may not be visible if the user moves multiple small images or documents.

Quoting from 9to5google, this feature is being expanded on several devices running the Android system. For now, the appearance of transfer status in the form of new percentages is seen on smartphones made by Google, namely Pixel, and Samsung Galaxy.

This change was originally seen in mid-October, but only on a few devices. Apparently, this update has been extended to more devices. It is not yet known when this feature will be available on Android devices other than Pixel and Samsung.
