Youtuber Agatha Of Palermo Reported To Police For Allegedly Blaspheming Religion

JAKARTA - The content creator Agatha of Palermo was policed for allegedly committing blasphemy related to hate speech against the Prophet Muhammad.

The report was filed by Johan Muhamad Junaedi (49) as a Litbang HR DPW Jabodetabek Apologet Islam Indonesia (API) to the Polda Metro Jaya Jakarta, Friday.

"Accompanied the reporter, Johan's brother in the case of hate speech against the Prophet Muhammad, which was carried out by a live streaming YouTube account from TikTok which was streamed to the Benteng77 YouTube account which was allegedly carried out by a brother with the initials AG," said Johan's lawyer, Rusdin Ismail, quoted from Antara, Saturday, November 2.

Rusdin explained that this blasphemy was allegedly carried out by Agatha through a live broadcast on YouTube.

"He said that the Prophet Muhammad was a dowry and buying and selling people, the Prophet Muhammad was afraid of water when defecating, and so on," he said.

Rusdin said this blasphemy incident allegedly occurred on October 28, 2024. At that time Johan as the reporter saw the show live on YouTube.

Meanwhile, Johan as the reporter hopes that his report will be processed soon. He wanted Agatha to be arrested to provide a deterrent effect to the public, so that there would be no more blasphemy.

"Hopefully with this report there will be no more blasphemy and this is a deterrent effect. We want to cool down at the Republic of Indonesia," he said.

The reporting party brought a number of pieces of evidence in the form of prints from the YouTube channel that delivered hate speech.

Agatha himself was reported for alleged violations of Article 28E jo. Article 45 of Law Number 1 of 2004 concerning ITE and or Article 156 of the Criminal Code.
