Holds Islamic Humanitarian Forum, PBNU: There Is A Behavior Of A Large Countries Contrary To Global Agreements

JAKARTA - The Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board held an Islamic Humanitarian International Conference in Jakarta to formulate and offer solutions from various conflicts that occur in various parts of the world.

"This Islamic Humanitarian Theme represents our confusion as a NU congregation, which is related to issues related to the world. In the NU congregational environment, the world is currently at a very crucial crossroads," said PBNU Chairman Ulil Abshar Abdallah in Jakarta, Friday, November 1, confiscated by Antara.

Ulil said the conference on November 4-6, 2024 will present dozens of international kiai, scholars, and academics from the United States, Europe, Canada, Australia, Africa, and Southeast Asia, including Indonesia.

Together they will become active participants and provide input and encouragement from various efforts to resolve conflicts that occur in the global world.

"The world's signs are currently experiencing a process of inconsistency. We are heading towards a new order that is not yet clear in its form. There are injustices, there are behaviors shown by big countries that are contrary to global agreements," said Ulil.

According to him, the Islamic Humanitarian Movement or Isl▁didasarkanm lil Insmeniyah itself has been initiated 10 years ago by NU elements in the context of the development of NU thoughts and movements. This movement, said Ulil, wants to offer a solution based on the character of Islam Nusantara or Islam Indonesia which is peaceful and friendly to an increasingly complex world.

As for a number of materials that will be discussed, such as geopolitical shifting phenomena to the rise of religious-based populism and racism, increasing threats of violence and war, as well as global inequality and poverty.

"The vision is that we want to build a life together, where the life of all human beings from various backgrounds is based to unite them all," said Ulil.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Islamic Humanitarian Conference Ahmad Ginanjar Sya'ban said that President Prabowo Subianto plans to open a conference which will take place on November 5, 2024.

"On November 5, the peak event will be held at Balairung University of Indonesia. It is scheduled to be opened by President Prabowo Subianto," he said.

In addition to international conferences, participants will visit a number of locations and hold meetings such as the Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta Cathedral, Kudus Tower Mosque, Sam Poo Kong, to Yogyakarta.
