SMRC Survey: Andika-Hendi Vs Luthfi-Yasin Strictly Compete, Electability Differences Only 0.6 Percent
JAKARTA - Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) released a poll on the electability of the candidate pair for Governor-Deputy Governor of Central Java. As a result, the difference in electability between Andika Perkasa-Hendrar Prihadi and Ahmad Luthfi Taj Yasin was quite thin, which was 0.6 percent.
The Executive Director of SMRC, Deni Irvani explained, Andika-Hendi's electability was 48.1 percent and Luthfi-Yasin 4.75 percent. Meanwhile, there are still 4.4 percent of respondents who have not made a choice or did not answer.
"The voice difference between the two pairs is very thin and is in the margin or error range, so statistically it cannot be concluded who is superior," Deni said in a virtual survey presentation, Friday, November 1.

Meanwhile, Deni said there had been an increase in votes in the Andika-Hendi pair over the past month, namely 36.6 percent in September 2024 to 48.1 percent in October 2024.

On the other hand, vote support for the Luthfi-Yasin pair decreased from 57.9 percent to 47.5 percent in the same period.
"In the past month, Andika-Hendi experienced a significant increase in votes by 11.5 percent and Luthfi-Yasin fell 10.4 percent," said Deni.
For information, this survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews in the period 17-22 October 2024. The population of this survey is residents of Central Java Province who have the right to vote in general elections, namely those who are 17 years old or older, or are married when the survey is conducted.
A sample of 1210 respondents were selected from the population using the multistage random sampling method with a proportional amount. The survey's margin of error is estimated at 10.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
