Coordination Meeting With Minister Of Home Affairs, Minister Of Manpower Yassierli Asks Local Government To Determine UMP 2025
JAKARTA - The Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, together with the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, and all Regional Heads at the Provincial, Regency and City Levels held a Coordination Meeting (Rakor) to discuss the surge in Termination of Work Relations (PHK) and the determination of the 2025 Minimum Wage.
Yassierli said this coordination meeting was to harmonize employment policies between the Central and Regional Governments, as well as to increase coordination with the surge in the number of layoffs (PHK).
"As of October 2024, there were 59,796 workers who were laid off. This number has increased by 25,000 workers in the last three months," Yassierli said, Friday, November 1.
To suppress the increase in the number of layoffs, the Minister of Manpower Yassierli encourages each region to build an early warning system against potential layoffs in companies.
"With the early warning system, it is hoped that it can mitigate the social and economic impacts caused by the high number of layoffs," he said.
As for the determination of the 2025 Minimum Wage, the Minister of Manpower asked all Governors to set the 2025 Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) no later than November 21, 2024.
