Former Leaders Meet The KPK Council To Discuss The Alexander Marwata-Eko Darmanto Meeting
JAKARTA - The former head of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) visited the KPK Supervisory Board office at the ACLC KPK Building, Rasuna Said, Jakarta today, Thursday, October 31.
They discussed a number of things behind closed doors. Among them are related to the alleged meeting between the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Alexander Marwata and the former Head of Yogyakarta Customs, Eko Darmanto.
"We also discussed how Mr. Alexander Marwata is. I learned that Alex is not as described outside. There is something that is not suitable (at the time of the incident)," said former Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Saut Situmorang to reporters at the location.
"So we go into details like that," he continued.
In addition, other discussions were also carried out by former leaders with the supervisory board. One of them is about the value that should be upheld by KPK personnel and the leadership of the institution.
"After all, if you talk about eradicating corruption, leadership is important. So how about the interaction between investigators, investigators, prosecutors, and so on. We hope that the dynamics will not occur in the future (in the future, ed) because this period is only a few months away," said Saut.

Complementing Saut, Basaria also mentioned that this meeting also discussed the polemic of the Alexander and Eko Darmanto meeting. "Now where has it come, we also need an explanation," he said.
Previously reported, Polda Metro Jaya investigated allegations of criminal acts committed by KPK Deputy Chairman Alexander Marwata when meeting former Yogyakarta Customs Chief Eko Darmanto. He was reported because he was considered to be in direct contact with the suspect or other parties related to corruption cases.
Alexander emphasized that he did not get any profit from his meeting with Eko. They also only discussed the alleged corruption in Customs and Excise.
"Did I make a profit from that meeting? I say here, I have absolutely no profit," Alexander Marwata told reporters, Tuesday, October 15.
Allegations of this meeting were also reported to the KPK Supervisory Board by the Law Concerned Student Forum (FMPH). Alexander is suspected of violating Article 4 paragraph (2) letters a and b in the KPK Council Regulation number 3 of 2021 after meeting Eko Darmanto.
"(We, ed) ask the KPK Council to immediately process and justice Brother Alexander Marwata in accordance with applicable laws and regulations," said Chairman of the Law Concerned Student Forum Raja Oloan Rambe in his statement, Friday, September 27.
