Democrat Legislators Wanti-wanti Minister Of Human Rights: Budget Must Be Clear And Measurable In Accordance With Law

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission XIII DPR from the Democratic Faction, Rinto Subekti, warned the Minister of Human Rights, Natalius Pigai to conduct a clear budget in his ministry. Given, Pigai asked for an additional budget for the Ministry of Human Rights from Rp64 billion to Rp20 trillion.

"The thoughts and desires of the minister and his staff regarding the budget will certainly support us as partners. But it must be clear and measurable. For what reason, the minister has conveyed about the integrity of the minister from the bottom to becoming a minister of human rights," said Rinto during a working meeting with the Minister of Human Rights at the Parliament Complex, Thursday, October 31.

According to Rinto, the Minister of Human Rights must detail what the needs of the Ministry of Human Rights are, both with a budget of Rp. 64 billion, and Rp. 20 trillion. Whatever the budget value approved by the minister of finance, he said, must be carried out according to the existing law.

"I just want to remind you of how the budgeting that the minister hopes for Rp. 20 trillion will be, if later it is actually given by the president and the Minister of Finance or only given according to what is now, of course it must be based on the existing law, Law number 39 who really want human rights to revise it," said Rinto.

"Do not let the derivation of the law not match the thinking of the minister, such as examples of making laboratories, RS HAM or so on," he added.

Rinto wants the main task of the Minister of Human Rights in accordance with the applicable rules and laws. "Besides that, the minister has a human rights coordinator. Of course, this is a good coordination between the Minister of Human Rights and the Coordinating Minister in addition to seeing a clear legal umbrella regarding the Law and Perppu," he concluded.
