Differences In MediaTek Helio G85 And MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra Chipsets, Which Is Better?
JAKARTA - Recently, the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset and MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra have become one of the chipsets widely used by entry-level phones because of affordable prices but reliable performance.
Some of the phones supported by the Helio G81 Ultra chipset are Xiaomi Redmi 14C, Infinix Smart 9 Infinix Hot 50i TECNO Spark 30C.
Meanwhile, phones with MediaTek Helio G85 chipsets include Redmi 12C, Vivo Y03, Vivo Y17s, Samsung Galaxy A05, POCO C65, Redmi 13C, OPPO A18, Tecto Spark 20
"Although both are designed for entry-level cellphones, their performance is very reliable for daily activities such as social media, browsing, and even smoothly used when playing favorite games," explained Jekssn.
Jeksen explained further regarding the difference in ability of the two MediaTek chipsets:
Performance and Graphics
From the CPU side, these two chipsets both use an octa-core CPU with dual core Cortex-A75 at speed up to 2.0 GHz for Helio G85, and 1,8GHz for Helio G81 Ultra, as well as six core Cortex-A55 at speed up to 1,8GHz.
Meanwhile, in terms of GPU, both of them also have the same specifications using the Arm Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. In terms of performance, and graphic capabilities, these two chipsets can be said to be the best in class.
Screen Capability
Even though it is in the entry-level class, Jeksen said that both chipsets are able to optimize screen displays with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and provide a positive experience for users because the resulting images are smoother, lag-free, especially during the game.
Not only that, these two chipsets have also supported screen resolutions up to Full HD +. Overall, both MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra and MediaTek Helio G85 have the ability to display the screen very well.

"Although of course the specifications of the screen components are also a determining factor," he added.
Camera Capability
MediaTek Helio G85 supports the main camera of up to 48MP, while MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra is able to process higher resolutions, up to 50MP.
Not only that, this chipset also supports the AI camera feature to produce better photo quality, such as AI Beautification, scene detection, and bokeh effects.
It can be said that the camera sector is one of the advantages of the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra, although the final result also depends on other factors such as sensors, lenses, and image processing features.
From the test results, these two chipsets can be said to both produce the best performance in their class, but Jeksen argues that the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra has the uniqueness that makes this chipset superior.
One of the things that MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra excels is because this chipset is developed customize, which means it has been adapted to the needs of the latest cellphone, "he concluded.
