Two Dams In Aceh Will Soon Be Completed, The Progress Is More Than 90 Percent
The Ministry of Public Works (PU) is accelerating the completion of the construction of two dams in Aceh, namely the Rukoh Dam and Keureuto.
The two dams are designed to increase agricultural irrigation capacity, support flood control and provide raw water and electrical energy for the people of Aceh.
PU Minister Dody Hanggodo said the construction of this dam was a concrete step by the Ministry of Public Works in supporting Asta Cita Presiden Prabowo-Deputy President Gibran, namely strengthening the national security defense system and encouraging the nation's independence through food self-sufficiency.
"The presence of this dam is also expected to increase agricultural productivity and the welfare of farmers, as well as support food security which is a national priority," said Dody, quoted from the official website of the Ministry of Public Works, Wednesday, October 30.
First, for the Rukoh Dam. This water field infrastructure is located in Pidie Regency which has a capacity of 128 million cubic meters and an inundation area of 716.7 hectares.
This dam will later serve an irrigation area of 11,950 hectares with a rice-padiwija planting pattern and planting intensity of 300 percent (exciting 140 percent).
In addition, the Rukoh Dam also functions for flood control in the Krueng Rukoh area with the potential for flood reduction of up to 89.62 percent and supplying raw water of 0.90 cubic meters per second.
This water field infrastructure was built since the end of 2018 at a state budget cost of IDR 1.5 trillion.
The construction was carried out in stages through two packages with each contractor. Package 1 with a physical progress of 96.16 percent was carried out by PT Nindya Karya (Persero) worth IDR 377 billion. Meanwhile, for Package 2 the physical progress has reached 92.42 percent, which was carried out by PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk KSO PT Adhi Karya (Persero) and PT Andesmont Sakti worth IDR 1.7 trillion.
Then, the Keureuto Dam in North Aceh Regency which has a capacity of 215.94 million cubic meters and an inundation area of 896.6 hectares.

In the future, this dam is expected to serve irrigation needs on an area of 9,455 hectares, providing raw water of 0.5 cubic meters per second and producing 6.34 MW of electrical energy.
The Keureuto Dam was built since 2015 at a state budget cost of IDR 2.7 trillion. The physical progress of the construction of this dam has reached 96.69 percent.
This work is divided into four work packages with each contractor. Package 1 PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero)-PT Pelita Nusa Perkasa (KSO), Package 2 PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, Package 3 PT Hutama Karya-Perapen and the completion package for dam construction by PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero)-PT Indrapurindo Marga Bakti Utama-PT Pelita Nusa Perkasa (KSO).
