Russia Dispelled Psywar, Says German-Owned Military Factory In Ukraine Could Be Targeted By Attacks

JAKARTA Germany's military factory Rheinmetall, which opened in Ukraine at the end of October, could be the target of a Russian attack.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the plant would certainly be a legitimate target.

While Rheinmetall says this is not the first threat from Moscow and their operations in Ukraine are well protected.

Rheinmetall said in July 2024 it plans to open four military factories in Ukraine

The first plant intends to produce a number of Lynx infantry fighting vehicles by the end of this year, Germany's head of company Armin Righterger told Ukrainian media.

"Rheinmetall intends to open a second factory in the near future," said Right.

In addition, Rheinmetall also plans to open a mill in Ukraine, a tank ammunition factory, and prepare the production of an air defense system.

Deputy spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Andrei Nastasin said by the end of July, the Rheinmetall facility, if built, would be a 'legitimate target' for the Russian army.
