The TNI Commander Ensures To Coordinate With The Police To Maintain The Security Of The 2024 Pilkada
TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto ensured that the TNI would continue to coordinate with the National Police and the regional leadership coordination forum (forkopimda) to keep the situation ahead of the 2024 Pilkada conducive.
Agus explained that the TNI also regularly updates information about the security situation ahead of the 2024 Pilkada.
Each region has its own classification, different in Java, Aceh, and Papua. So, the security standards are different. Of course, we are also coordinating with the police and forkopimda in the region," said Agus Subiyanto as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 28.
The KPU has scheduled a vote for the 2024 Pilkada to take place simultaneously in 545 regions on November 27, 2024. These areas include 37 provinces, 415 districts, and 93 cities.
The TNI Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS) in the 2024 Pilkada Insecurity Index shows that as many as 21 areas are believed to be vulnerable, with details of 15 regions having a high level of vulnerability and six other areas with moderate vulnerability levels.
A total of 15 areas with high levels of vulnerability include Aceh, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, Central Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, Maluku, North Maluku, Papua, West Papua, Southwest Papua, Central Papua, Papua Mountains, and South Papua.
In areas with a high level of vulnerability, the type of vulnerability includes conflicts between candidate pairs, clashes between fanatical supporters, political elite conflicts, conflicts in the base area to armed conflict in Papua.

Meanwhile, six areas with moderate vulnerability include West Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, and South Sulawesi.
In areas where the level of vulnerability is moderate, the threat of conflict includes conflicts triggered by rivalry between candidate pairs, especially incumbent (incumbent) and non-resistent, then politicization of SARA.
