The West Lombok Resort Police, West Nusa Tenggara, revealed that there was control over the circulation of methamphetamine between provinces from the Mataram Class III Women's Correctional Institution.

West Lombok Police Chief AKBP I Komang Sarjana said that the disclosure of the case of controlling the distribution of methamphetamine between provinces from inside the prison began with the arrest of a woman with the initials SW alias Fia (22), a resident of Karang Bongkot Village, Labuapi District, West Lombok Regency.

"The suspect Fia was arrested in the ASDP Lembar Port area after getting off the ferry ship coming from Bali on October 5, 2024 at around 01.15 WITA," said the Bachelor as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 28.

From the arrest of the suspect, the police confiscated two packages of crystal methamphetamine weighing 496.73 grams. The drug package was hidden in a biscuits package stored in a shopping bag that reads "Gogreen Alfamart".

He said that his party also confiscated two cell phones and Rp2.6 million in cash, which allegedly had something to do with drug smuggling.

From the results of the examination, explained Mahardika, it was revealed that Fia's role as a courier often carried out the task of smuggling methamphetamine from outside the province.

"For one smuggling, the suspect Fia was promised a wage of Rp. 10 million," said Mahardika.

For the package from Bali Island, Fia told investigators about the role of someone who gave the package with the initials J.

"The drug package, which is from Bali, is planned to be handed over to someone in the West Lombok area," he said.

From the development of the investigation, it was further revealed the role of an inmate at the Mataram Class III Women's Prison with the initials MB.

"From the confession of the suspect, Fia, we got the name of a prisoner at the Mataram Class III Women's Prison with the initials MB who acted as the controller. MB ordered Fia to take a drug package in Bali," he said.

By revealing MB's role, the police also named the inmate at the Mataram Class III Women's Prison as a suspect.

"Now the legal process has reached the filing. For the suspect, we are still detaining the detention center, for MB not yet, because the person concerned is still serving a sentence at the Mataram Class III Women's Prison," he said.

Investigators have named Fia and MB in this case as suspects who are suspected of violating Article 112 paragraph (2) and/or Article 114 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
