Tracing Transactions Of Ex-Ma Officials In Ronald Tannur's Free Verdict Case, PPATK: We Freeze Everything

JAKARTA - The Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) stated that it had traced the suspicious flow of funds from a former Supreme Court (MA) official, Zarof Ricar, who is a suspect in the alleged bribery and gratification case behind Gregorius Ronald Tannur's acquittal.

Zarof Ricar is known to have around Rp920 trillion in cash and 51 kilograms of gold. The treasure was revealed based on the results of a search conducted by the Attorney General's Office (AGO).

"We have coordinated with the Prosecutor's Office from the start," said PPATK Head Ivan Yustiavandana to VOI, Monday, October 28.

However, Ivan did not convey in detail the value of the suspicious transaction from Zarof Ricar found by PPATK.

However, Ivan said that his party had frozen all accounts belonging to the former MA official.

"We have frozen everything," said Ivan.

For information, the AGO confiscated cash in rupiah and foreign currency worth Rp920,912,303,714 and 51 kilograms of gold from Zarof Ricar's residence.

Director of Investigation at the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the AGO, Abdul Qohar detailed the confiscated evidence, namely 74,494,427 Singapore dollars, 1,897,362 United States (US) dollars, 71,200 Euros, 483,320 Hong Kong dollars, and Rp5,725,075,000

Then, the investigators also confiscated a gold precious metal antam totaling 46.9 kilograms. Then, 12 gold pieces of precious metal, one piece is 50 grams

One pink line wallet contains 7 gold antam each 100 grams, 1 petik containing 10 gold pieces, three gold kwetancy certificates.

Meanwhile, for a search at the Lemeredian Bali hotel, investigators confiscated Rp10 million in cash with Rp100 thousand denominations and Rp50 thousand denominations worth Rp4.9 million.

Then, 52 pieces of Rp100 thousand denomination and Rp 5000 denominations totaling Rp1,925,000.

"As we can see in front of this, all of which are converted into rupiah in the amount of Rp920,912,303,714 and 51 kilograms of gold bullion," said Qohar.

Zarof Ricar is a former MA official whose last position is the Head of the Legal and Judicial Research and Development and Training Agency.

In the case of Ronald Tannur, the suspect Zarof Ricar agreed with Lisa Rachmat who is the lawyer for the defendant Ronald Tannur.

They plan to bribe the Supreme Court judge in the amount of Rp. 5 billion. The goal is that the cassation decision handed down will still be acquitted of Ronald Tannur in the alleged murder case of his girlfriend, Dini Sera Afriyanti.
