The 2024 Suhandinata Cup Champion Team Was Given A Bonus Of IDR 657 Million

JAKARTA The Indonesian badminton team that won the Mixed Team Junior World Championship or the 2024 Suhandinata Cup was showered with a bonus of IDR 657 million.

The Djarum Foundation Sports Service and the General Chair of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), Fadil Imran, each gave IDR 457 million and IDR 200 million for young athletes, coaches, and support teams.

Djarum Foundation Sports Service Director Program, Yoppy Rosimin, said that the bonus was their commitment to outstanding athletes who had issued all their abilities.

"Hopefully this appreciation will be able to increase motivation and enthusiasm to win more in international championships," said Yoppy in a statement.

The Indonesian junior badminton team managed to come out as champions after defeating the hosts in the newly tested aesthetic point system.

With this system, Indonesia locked the victory with a score of 110-103. The result also paid for Indonesia's failure in last year's final.

Fadil said that this success gave Indonesia its own pride. He also hopes that Indonesia's badminton glory will continue to shine.

"As a form of respect for this achievement score, I give awards to those who are the nation's best sons and daughters in the field of badminton," said Fadil.

This is Indonesia's second title from the tournament. Previously, the first title was brought home by Indonesian badminton heroes in 2019.

After that, Indonesia's journey reached the semifinals in 2022 and finals in 2023. However, last year's title failed to be brought home by Alwi Farhan and his friends after being beaten by China 1-3.
