Ramli Ibrahim Re-elected As Chairman Of The Jakarta Golf Club

JAKARTA - Ramli Ibrahim was re-elected as Chairman of the Jakarta Golf Club (JGC) for the 2024-2029 term of service. JGC is one of the oldest golf clubs in Indonesia.

Ramli returned to the top leadership at the 5-year General Meeting of Members which took place at the JGC Headquarters, Rawamangun Golf Course, East Jakarta, on Sunday, October 27, 2024.

Ramli, after being elected, asked all club members to work together and support each other's work for the next five years.

"I would like to thank those who have voted and trusted me," Ramli said after he was again appointed as the head of the club.

Ramli went up to the chair of the General Chairperson of the JGC after going through the election process which took place by voting. In the process, he managed to outperform another candidate, Johan Susanto.

Actually, there were a total of 333 participants who had voting rights, but only 295 exercised their rights. Of that number, Ramli won 171 votes and Johan 128 votes, while the remaining two were abstained and one was invalid.

In accordance with the provisions of the JGC Articles of Association and Household, Ramli as the elected general chairman gets 14 days to prepare the management and form a supervisory body.

Ramli promised to work seriously in building JGC which has thousands of members. He also emphasized that he would give the club more time.

"Despite the protests or criticisms that colored this General Meeting of Members and Elections, we were finally able to complete the election democratically. This could be a good example," he said.

Anthon Sihombing as a member of the JGC said he was happy with the democratic election process. He hopes Ramli can bring JGC better and progress in the next five years.

"I hope Mr. Ramli will form a Supervisory Board to keep the organization's journey going as well as we hope together," said the professional boxing figure.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Golf Association (PB PGI), KPH Japto Soerjosoemarno, said that Ramli's previous work had been proven.

"I really hope that the incumbent will be chosen because it has worked well. My message is to work well and honestly. Don't make money in the organization. Get this club well," said Japto.

Ramli Ibrahim was previously a formatur and chairman of the Jakarta Golf Club Association for the 2019-2024 period. At that time he replaced HMP Simatupang as the general chairman who died due to illness.
