Rano Karno Will Build Floating Gas Stations In The Thousand Islands

JAKARTA - Candidate for Deputy Governor of Jakarta number 3, Rano Karno promised to build a floating public refueling station (SPBU) in the Thousand Islands if he won the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

This was stated by Rano in response to the answer of the candidate for Governor candidate number 2 Dharma Porengkun in the debate between the two Candidates for Governor and Deputy Governor of Jakarta regarding the problem of clean water and sea transportation in the Thousand Islands.

"If we become governors tomorrow and deputy governors who are said to be gas stations, we will rebuild the floating gas station," said Rano in the second debate of the Jakarta gubernatorial election in Ancol, North Jakarta, Sunday, October 27.

Rano emphasized that floating gas stations can be a solution to overcome the problem of inter-island transportation in the Thousand Islands.

Rano admitted that he had previously visited two islands in the Thousand Islands, namely Bidadari Island and Ujung Jawa. Rano received complaints from residents who had problems related to sea transportation and clean water.

According to Rano, the main problem for the residents of the Thousand Islands is the difficulty of getting diesel to use inter-island transportation.

"So how can they use the means of transportation if the diesel is not available," said Rano.

As for clean water, Rano revealed that he had empowered Bayah residents in Banten to plant seaweed.

According to him, seaweed cultivation can be a source of clean water for coastal communities through drying seaweed with a "solar tunnel drying" model.

"I understand the problem of clean water because it happens that in the Bayah area I once planted seaweed," explained Rano.

For information, the second debate tonight has the theme of economics and social welfare. The debate participants are the candidate pair (paslon) for Governor-Deputy Governor number 1 Ridwan Kamil-Suswono, candidate pair number 2 Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana, and candidate pair number 3 Pramono Anung-Rano Karno.

During the Jakarta gubernatorial election, the KPU held three debates between candidate pairs. The first debate was held on October 6, with the theme of strengthening cultural resilience; HR development; to programs for women, children, marginalized people, and disabilities. Meanwhile, the last debate was held on November 17.
