Prabowo Asked To Complete Stalled Cases Including Payment Gateway

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto briefly mentioned efforts to eradicate state threats such as corruption in a speech after his inauguration on October 20.

A legal observer from Trisakti University, Abdul Fickar Hadjar, assessed that from his first speech, Prabowo could prove efforts to resolve corruption cases that had stalled for years.

"The important thing is that it must be implemented in government work programs, if there are indications of corruption, it must be directly prosecuted," said Abdul Fickar on Friday, October 25.

Fickar gave an example, the completion of corruption cases that have been in place for years without certainty of resolution, namely the payment gateway case of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, which has been stalled for almost 10 years. The suspect is still walking freely.

"Anyone who is proven or has indications of evidence must be prosecuted, especially prioritized to avoid and return state losses related to abuse of office," he said.

The Kemenkumham payment gateway case resurfaced after former Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights Denny Indrayana on his website mentioned the status of the suspect.

In March 2023, Andi Syamsul Bahri, as the reporter for the alleged corruption, complained about the development of the case that was walking on the spot.

Therefore, in the Prabowo government, Abdul Fickar advised those who were dissatisfied with this condition to file a pretrial lawsuit so that this case could be handled again.

"For those who have an interest and are dissatisfied, please submit a pretrial legal action," he said.

Denny Indrayana is known to have been named a suspect by the National Police in the alleged payment gateway corruption case. This case was handled in the era of the National Police Chief, General Badrodin Haiti.

Denny is considered to have played a role in instructing the referrals of the two payment gateway project vendors. Denny is also suspected of facilitating the two vendors to operate the system. The two vendors in question are PT Nusa Inti Artha (Doku) and PT Finnet Indonesia.

Investigators estimate that the alleged state loss to the case reached Rp32.09 billion. The police also suspect that there is an illegal levy of Rp605 million from the system.

When delivering a state speech after the inauguration at the Nusantara Building, the parliament complex, Senayan, Prabowo admitted that corruption was still a serious problem for Indonesia.

"We have to face the fact that there are still too many leaks, irregularities, corruption in our country. This is what endangers our future and the future of our children and our grandchildren," said Prabowo, Sunday, October 20.
