Former Supreme Court Official Becomes Suspect Of Bribery For Ronald Tannur's Free Verdict

The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has named Zarof Ricar as a suspect in the bribery case of Gregorius Ronald Tannur's acquittal.

The Director of Investigation of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampis) at the AGO, Abdul Qohar, said that the suspect was named Zarof Ricar after investigators had sufficient preliminary evidence.

"(Determine) ZR as a former Supreme Court official as a suspect in the conspiracy to commit bribery and gratification," Qohar told reporters, Friday, October 25.

Zarof Ricar was also detained by the AGO. This step was also taken to facilitate the collection of information in the development of the alleged bribery case.

"The suspect ZR was detained in the detention center for the next 20 days," said Qohar.

Zarof Ricar was arrested by AGO investigators in Bali. Then, the retired Supreme Court (MA) underwent an examination at the Bali High Prosecutor's Office.

In the bribery case of Ronald Tannur's acquittal, the AGO previously named four suspects in the bribery case for Ronald Tannur's acquittal.

Three of them were judges at the Surabaya District Court, namely Erintuah Damanik, Mangapul, and Heru Hanindyo. While the other one, Lisa Rahmat, who is Ronald Tannur's lawyer.

In this case, three judges who received bribes were charged with Article 5 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 6 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 12 letter c of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Meanwhile, Lisa Rahmat was charged with Article 5 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 6 paragraph 1 letter A of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
