As Chairman Of Commission XIII, Willy Aditya Ensures DPR Guards Protection For Law Enforcement

JAKARTA - Willy Aditya from the NasDem Party faction was elected as Chairman of Commission XIII, one of the council's newly formed tools (AKD). He stated that he was ready to lead the commission, one of which was in charge of Regulatory Reform and Human Rights (HAM) in the spirit of cross-sectoral collaboration.

"Together with fellow partners, we will try to build a collaborative spirit of cross-sectoral approach, because this is one spirit, namely protection of law enforcement and human rights," said Willy, Wednesday, October 23.

As is known, the DPR formed two new commissions, namely Commission XII and XIII, to align with cabinet nomenclatures from the government of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Ramabuming Raka. During the current government period, Prabowo divided the Ministry of Law and Human Rights into three, namely the Ministry of Law, Ministry of Human Rights, as well as the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Impas) under one Coordinating Minister (Menko).

The House of Representatives Commission XIII will partner with the Ministry of Law, Ministry of Human Rights, Ministry of State Secretariat, Ministry of Immigration and Corrections, Komnas HAM, LPSK, BNPT, BPIP, Secretariat General of DPD RI, Secretariat General of MPR RI, and the Presidential Staff Office.

Overall, Commission XIII has a scope of work in the fields of law, human rights, institutional relations, and national and social life in general.

The breaking of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights itself is said to have Prabowo done so that the ministry's work is more focused. The same thing was conveyed by Willy where in the previous DPR period the Ministry of Law and Human Rights partnered with Commission III. The existence of a new AKD in charge of this field can make the DPR more focused on supervising the affairs of Regulation Reform and Human Rights in Indonesia.

"We want in the future law enforcement and human rights protection to be one of the reasons for our process of state, nation and democracy," explained the legislator from the East Java XI electoral district.

Willy said that the division of the scope of work of commissions in the DPR in this period had been carried out effectively. According to him, additional commissions in the DPR are needed to make the work of legislative institutions more optimal.

"Of course this is a progressive thing, yes. In terms of management, the commission is divided into 13 and the Law-HAM in its own commission, it will focus more on the reach for supervision," said Willy.

This graduate of UGM and master from ITB who collaborated with Cranfield University assessed that Prabowo's breaking of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights was very appropriate. Willy emphasized that the DPR is ready to cooperate with the Prabowo government in overseeing matters of protection and law enforcement and human rights.

"Political will from Pak Prabowo's government will be much more measurable. Now, this is a joint commitment from the DPR and the government to be more effective," he said.

In leading Commission XIII of the DPR, Willy will be accompanied by four representatives. The determination of the leadership and members of Commission XIII of the DPR was held this afternoon in the DPR's Budget Agency (Banggar) room at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta.
