MG Talks About Boyong Model PHEV To The Indonesian Automotive Market, MG HS PHEV?
JAKARTA - The Indonesian automotive market continues to grow rapidly, especially in the environmentally friendly vehicle segment, not only enlivened by Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and Hybrid but also the Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) market.
Currently, the PHEV segment itself has been enlivened by various well-known brands, such as BMW, Volvo, Toyota and Lexus and many more.
Seeing the growing market, as one of the global brands of Morris Garages (MG) Motor Indonesia, it is possible to present the PHEV model for the Indonesian market.
"Actually, SAIC (the Parent Company) has a complete portfolio, there is Fuel Cell, and in Thailand there is a PHEV version of HS," said Director of Sales and Marketing Department SAIC Motor International, when met in the BSD area, Wednesday, October 23.
However, he revealed that when the company wants to present a model to a country there are several considerations, one of which is the economic scale and business.
"We see from the economic and business scale what is offered, how the price is high or how, so our future does not rule out the possibility of bringing PHEV to a country if it promises," he added.

On the other hand, MG Motor Indonesia CEO He Guowei revealed that PHEV is a middle ground based on expert statements, some see that going to an emission-free environment must be in a pure electric car.
"If we look here (Indonesia) there are indeed two patterns, some think that PHEV is a sustainable solution that does not require changes in infrastructure, for example, the development of a slow charging station can be overcome with a hybrid model," said He.
So, it is possible that MG will bring the PHEV model to the Indonesian market, and it could have entered the country, namely MG HS PHEV which was introduced in Thailand some time ago.
