New Jabat Acting Governor Of DKI, Teguh Setyabudi Demanded To Maintain ASN Neutrality In The 2024 Pilkada

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta DPRD has demanded the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta, Teguh Setyabudi, to maintain the neutrality of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's (ASN) state civil apparatus (ASN) in the implementation of the 2024 Pilkada.

Although Teguh has only served as Acting Governor of DKI since last October 18, DKI Jakarta DPRD Member Dwi Rio Sambodo believes that Teguh must be able to protect ASN from violating the code of ethics and discipline of its employees.

"The governor must be able to oversee the Pilkada by maintaining the neutrality of ASN," Rio said in his statement, Wednesday, October 23.

Rio emphasized that if ASN remains neutral, then there will be no conflict of interest that could affect the choice of citizens when voting for candidates for Governor-Deputy Governor of Jakarta on 27 November.

"Pj is required to prepare for the transition period of regional government as a result of the Jakarta Pilkada without causing turmoil in public security and order," said Rio.

Previously, Teguh Setyabudi revealed the priority of the tasks he will carry out while leading Jakarta after being inaugurated today for the next few months.

One of them, Teguh admitted that he would ensure that the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada in Jakarta on November 27, 2024 would run honestly, fairly, dignifiedly, and with integrity.

"Pilkada must certainly be able to run as well as possible, especially since Jakarta is also a barometer from various regions in Indonesia," said Teguh after being inaugurated at the Ministry of Home Affairs Office, Friday, October 18.

In addition, Teguh will also prioritize flood management. Teguh, who is also still serving as Director General of Dukcapil of the Ministry of Home Affairs, admitted that he would run a program to anticipate the impact of flooding because it is currently entering the rainy season.

"What is very close is that this is a 'ber berber' month. This means that we also have to prepare for the rainy season, how do we anticipate, for the minimum there may not be any disturbance related to the flood problem. That's what we have to deal with," he explained.
