PVRIS Enters A New Era Through EP FILTH, Which Is Collaboratively Worked On

JAKARTA - Lyndsey Gunnulfsen, or known as the PVRIS moniker, started his sonic journey by releasing the latest EP, 'F.I.L.T.H.'. This work is a mixtape that is done collaboratively.

He carried a special mission, because those involved in this project were musicians, producers, and recording engineers who came from women, non-binary, and queer in the music industry.

The mixtape also features collaborators such as LIGHTS, Tommy Genesis, Alice Longyu-Gao, Mothica, Uffie, and Sizzy Rocket. After a tour throughout 2024 in England, several countries in Europe, and America, PVRIS is ready to do what he does best, namely re-release meaningful songs.

"'F.I.L.T.H' is a collaborative music project that I produced with my friends and previous tour partners. I want to make a small project where some female/non-binary artists can enter the world of PVRIS, and vice versa, with full freedom to control the lyrics and music they want and have fun with the process," explained PVRIS in a written broadcast, October 22.

"Everyone is free to write what they want and add their own elements (significantly and extralatively) to every song. All songs are composed, mixed, and mastered by female/non-binary friends and everything is written and produced on their way, then completed on the road on tour. Hopefully there will be more time to make more songs... hoping to do more projects like this in the future!"

"I feel that to this point, in my career, I have participated in hundreds of song writing and production sessions, but I can only remember less than 20 of them involving female songwriters, and only 10 meetings with female producers. From labels, publishers, to management, there are very few efforts to advocate so that musicians can cooperate with women in general."

"In fact, it is even rare to see the same efforts to connect and present only women in the same room together, especially without being used as commodities, special events, or tasks that must be completed. Collaboration like this should happen organically, regardless of who is watching."
