Civil War In Sudan, Military Destroys Mosque Kills 31 People

The volunteer group revealed that the death toll from the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) airstrike targeted a mosque building in the city of Wad Madani, central Sudan, totaling 31 people.

The volunteer group, named the Resistance Committee Wad Madani, moved voluntarily to coordinate aid to all areas of Sudan affected by the war.

In the attack, half of the dead were still unidentified as rescue teams searched the remains of "tens of charred and mutilationd bodies."

The volunteer group accused the Sudanese military of using a "bomber".

Civil war has been raging between Sudanese military and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) since April 2023. As a result, tens of thousands of people have died, many have fled and the world's largest humanitarian crisis.

The two conflicting troops were involved in brutal fighting in the Al-Jazira agricultural area in central Sudan. The area has been under paramilitary control since late last year.

Both Sudanese and RSF militants are accused of war crimes, including targeting civilians, firing on residential areas indiscriminately, and blocking or looting aid.

RSF is specifically accused of massive looting, surrounding the entire village, and committing systematic sexual violence in Al-Jazira and throughout Sudan.
