Komdigi Will Require Every KLD To Have CSIRT To Strengthen Cyber Security

JAKARTA - Nezar Patriadan Angga Raka Prabowo was officially inaugurated and continued his duties as Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs during the reign of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

With a new name, Nezar said that the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) has made digital transformation an important and main theme in this Ministry.

Previously, Komdigi Minister Meutya Hafid had also explained their three main focuses, namely eradicating online gambling, improving digital security, and also improving digital space by presenting child-friendly internet.

Well, one of the efforts to improve digital security for all Indonesian people, Komdigi will require every Ministry of Institutions and Regions to have a CSIRT (Computer Security Incident Response Team).

"We will ensure that every Ministry, Institution and Region prepares what we call CSIRT. So that they are quite vigilant and become the first line to overcome cyber attacks," Nezar told the media at the Kominfo office after his inauguration at the State Palace on Monday, October 21.

Nezar also explained that previously there were several KLDs that already had CSIRT, but some have not. Thus, the formation of this CSIRT will become an obligation or mandatory.

"Well, that's what we want to fix the governance, yes. So that we can be more resistant to cyber attacks later. At least at the infrastructure preparation level we will clean it up first," said Nezar. "Yes, mandatory if CSIRT."
