Minister Of Law: Transitional Presidential Decree Will Be Completed No Later Than Tomorrow

JAKARTA - Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas said the transitional presidential regulation (perpres) that will regulate the number of directorate generals in each ministry will be completed no later than Tuesday (22/10).

"That temporary presidential regulation may be completed tonight or at the latest it will be completed tomorrow," Supratman said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 21.

The Presidential Regulation will regulate the separation of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights into three ministries, namely the Ministry of Law, the Ministry of Human Rights (HAM), and the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections.

Supratman explained that the transition team of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights had announced all presidential regulations related to the Ministry of Law, Ministry of Human Rights, and the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections.

He explained that the Ministry of Human Rights would consist of two directorate generals. The Ministry of Law, from the six directorates, will be three, namely the Directorate General of General Legal Administration, Intellectual Property, and the Law.

"But, there are still other bodies and expert staff," he said.

Meanwhile, for the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections there are around seven echelons I consisting of the directorate general, the secretariat general and the inspectorate general, and there are three expert staff.

Supratman said the entire process of transferring status, both personnel, facilities and infrastructure at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights would be completed no later than June 2025.

"The effort to break the ministry or merge is a presidential policy, because the president wants to see something based on the function, task and sharpening of the program," said Supratman.

In the next 100 days, Supratman said he would focus on carrying out all the sharpenings that have become a priority program of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
