Sat-set Movement, Vice President Gibran Reviews MRT Jakarta Phase 2 Project

JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Gibran Rakabuming Raka reviewed the Mass Rapid Transit or Integrated Moda Raya (MRT) Jakarta Phase 2 project in Central Jakarta.

The review was carried out after Gibran attended the inauguration of the Deputy Minister and Secretary of the Red and White Cabinet at the State Palace, Jakarta.

Accompanied by the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi and Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Teguh Setyabudi, the Vice President reviewed the progress of the construction of the National Monument Station (Monas) and Thamrin Station which are part of the MRT Phase 2 South-North Cross (Hi-City Home).

On foot, the Vice President and his companions and limited entourage traced the tunnel from Monas Station to Thamrin Station for approximately 350 meters, whose civilian work has now reached 82 percent.

One of the things that emphasizes the Vice President in the review is the importance of timeliness of project implementation and reforestation after project completion.

Quoted from the jakartamrt.co.id page, the MRT Jakarta Phase 2 construction project stretches along 11.8 kilometers from the HI Roundabout area to West Ancol. Phase 2 continues the north-south corridor phase 1 which has been operating since 2019, from Lebak Bulus to the HI Roundabout.

With the presence of phase 2, the total length of the north-south route becomes 27.8 kilometers with a total travel time from Lebak Bulus Station to Kota Station of about 45 minutes.

The interstation distance is about 0.6-1 kilometers with a communication-based train control system (CBTC) and a level 2 automatic operating system.

Phase 2 consists of two stages, namely phase 2A and phase 2B. Phase 2A consists of seven underground stations namely Thamrin, Monas, Harmoni, Sawah Besar, Mangga Besar, Glodok, and Kota with a total length of 5.8 kilometers.

Meanwhile, phase 2B consists of two underground stations, namely Mangga Dua and Ancol and one depot at Ancol Marina with a total length of six kilometers. Meanwhile, phase 2B is in the feasibility study stage.
