Israel Arrests 7 Citizens Who Betrayed Iran's Spying, Paid With Crypto
JAKARTA - Israeli authorities uncovered a spy network of 7 Israelis accused of working for Iran. The arrests were made as Israel prepares a counter-attack on Tehran.
Israeli Police and Israel Security Agency (ISA) said those arrested were suspected of gathering sensitive information on IDF bases and energy infrastructure.
The seven people are Jews from Haifa and other areas north of the country.
"Their operation lasted more than two years," said ISA's statement quoted by CNN, Monday, October 21.
Operations include extensive reconnaissance missions at the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) base nationwide with financial compensation, often through cryptocurrencies.
Israeli police and ISA said the arrests showed Iran's ongoing efforts to recruit and exploit Israelis for espionage and terrorism in Israel.

The arrests came as Israel prepared to launch an attack on Iran in response to Tehran's missile strike on October 1. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised to retaliate against Tehran.
