MotoGP Standings After The 2024 Australian Grand Prix
JAKARTA The distance between Jorge Martin and Francesco Bagnaia, two competitors for the 2024 MotoGP title, widened again after the Australian Grand Prix was completed.
The Australian 2024 Grand Prix (GP) which took place at the Phillip Island Circuit was completed on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Martin and Bagnaia finished in succession in second and third place in the main race.
The winner in the main race is the six-time MotoGP world champion, Marc Marquez. The victory is the third victory of the Spaniard this season.
The previous two victories were secured by Marquez in a row at the Grand Prix of Aragon and San Marino. This result keeps The Baby Alien hopes of winning even a small one.
Prior to that, when competing quickly in the Sprint Race on Saturday, October 19, 2024, Martin came out victorious, while defending champion Bagnaia had to settle for fourth place.

During the session Marquez took second place. He was followed by Bagnaia's teammate at the Ducati Lenovo Team, Enea Bastianini, who completed the top three positions.
The success of adding 32 points in the 2024 Australian MotoGP makes Martin more comfortable sitting at the top of the drivers' standings.
Now the rider who is the runner-up for the 2023 season has collected a total of 424 points or a 20 points ahead of Bagnaia who is trailing in second place.
The distance of points between the two riders was wide of 10 points. Before the 2024 Australian MotoGP took place, the two names that have been competitors since last season each collected 392 and 382.
Martin and Bagnaia are far ahead of Marquez in third place collecting 345 points. The chances of winning Marquez are still alive, but so small with three series remaining in this season's calendar.
In total, 111 points were won by the three names when they appeared in the Thai MotoGP (25-27 October), Malaysia (1-3 November), and finally Valencia (15-17 November).
