Indonesia Wins Three Golds From The 2024 Woodball World Cup

JAKARTA The Indonesian Woodball team managed to win the 2024 Woodball World Cup which took place in Shangyu, China, on Saturday, October 19, with a total of three gold medals and two silver medals.

The first gold medals were won by Muhammad Khadiq, Susila Marga Nugraha, Untung Ariska, and Pratama Aditya in the men's team stroke category. Susila Marga Nugraha then added his gold medal collection with a win in the men's singles stroke category after defeating Pratama Aditya. The third gold medal was presented by Siti Mashita in the women's singles stroke category. In addition, Siti also won a silver medal in the mixed double stroke category with Marga.

"Alhamdulillah, I am grateful and very happy to be able to fly the Red and White flag in China and be able to make the Indonesian nation proud," Marga said in a statement in Jakarta, Sunday, October 20. This is the second appearance of Marga at the Woodball World Cup after the 2013 edition, and he feels better prepared because he can read the opponent's strength more carefully.

"Moreover, this is the game from PON to the World Cup very close, so the aura is still carried away, on fire is very hard to fight," he added.

This success makes Indonesia proud, especially after facing strong teams such as China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Indonesian athletes showed extraordinary performance and high fighting spirit, managed to match their opponents.
