Jorge Martin Locks Pole Position At Australian GP

JAKARTA - Prima Pramac Racing Racer Jorge Martin locked pole position at the Australian GP after becoming the fastest in the qualifying session which took place at the Phillip Island Circuit, Australia, Saturday, October 19.

Jorge Martin became the fastest after recording a time of 1 minute 27,296 seconds.

While in second place is the Gresini Racing racer Marc Marquez who lost 0.594 seconds, and the third place is inhabited by Aprilia Racing racer Maverick Vinales who finished with a difference of 0.695 seconds.

The qualifying session is divided into two sessions, namely the first qualifying session (Q1) and the second qualification (Q2). The racers who entered the qualifying session were the top ten fastest riders in the free practice session.

In Q1, the duo racers Repsol Honda Luca Marini and Juan Mir as well as GAS GAS racers Tech 3 Augusto Fernandez became the fastest to compete to secure tickets to Q2. However, the drama occurred after Ducati racer Enea Bastianini and Aprilia Racing racer Raul Fernandez filled two slots remaining to step into Q2.

Entering Q2, the competition at the wet Phillip Island Circuit was immediately presented between Marc Marquez, Jorge Martin, and Francesco Bagnaia.

But Jorge Martin became the fastest in the first session outperforming Marc Marquez. In the first round Vinales took over first place with a time of 1 minute 27,991 seconds.

Meanwhile, in the second round, Jorge Martin appeared to dominate by locking up the leading position and beating Marc Marquez who was in second place.

While Martin's closest competitor in the standings, Bagnaia had to settle for starting the race in fifth position.
