His Doctor's Degree Was Questioned Until UI Formed An Investigation Team, Bahlil Opened His Voice
JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia opened his voice regarding his Doctoral degree which was doubted by a number of parties.
Moreover, news circulated that the Professorship Council of the University of Indonesia would form an investigation team for its doctoral degree at the Strategic and Global Studies School or SKSG.
"Wow, I don't know. That's an internal campus matter," Bahlil told the media crew, Friday, October 18.
Bahlil also asked the media crew to ask the University of Indonesia directly as the giver of the title.
However, Bahlil ensured that he won the title according to the procedure. He explained that the rules required by UI to take a doctoral study were for 4 semesters.
"But I studied the rules saying at least a doctoral degree, right by research, at least 4 semesters and I'm already 4 semesters," Bahlil continued.
He also ensured that he had followed all lecture procedures to consult with the supervisor.
"And I went to college, came to a consultation, there was a seminar," said Bahlil.
Previously, Bahlil received a doctoral degree from the University of Indonesia with a dissertation entitled Policy, Institution, and Governance of Downstreaming Nickel with Justice and Sustainability in Indonesia.
Before arriving at the Open Session of Doctoral Promotion, based on an official statement submitted by the University of Indonesia, Bahlil Lahadalia as a research student of the SKSG UI Global Stratejik Study Doctoral Study Program has taken a series of exam stages, namely: Seminar I which was conducted on June 15, 2023, Seminar 2 on October 26, 2023, Seminar 3 on December 22, 2023, and Research Proposal Exam on January 27, 2024.
Furthermore, Bahlil Lahadalia took the Research Results Examination on June 19, 2024, the Seminar Examination for Research Results I on July 10, 2024, and the Research Results Examination 2 on September 27, 2024.
