Fired From The Mandalorian, Gina Carano Demands Disney And Lucasfilm
JAKARTA - Actress Gina Carano sued Disney with Lucasfilm after she was fired from the series The Mandalorian in February 2021. She was fired after making an upload containing comparisons between Republicans in the United States and Jews during the holocaust period.
Carano, assisted by Elon Musk, sued the production house at California's federal prosecutor. In his statement, Carano compared himself to Pedro Pascal.
The former MMA fighter did not accept it because actor Pedro Pascal, who starred in Disney production, was also said to often voice social issues through his Instagram account, but Disney did not do the same.
Disney is said to have tried to remove the lawsuit by filing an appeal to the prosecutor's office. Their appeal was rejected and the trial will continue in September 2025.
"Considering both parties, relevant laws, and track records in this case, the court has REJECTed an attempt to remove the lawsuit," Sherilyn Peace Garnett, US district attorney, citing the Independent.

Gina Carano thanked the judge for his decision and hoped the trial would continue to prove the truth.
"I was impressed by the opportunity to continue the judicial process. While I hope this is not as important as this is not my desire to conflict in court, I will not be afraid because it is difficult and uncomfortable," said Gina Carano.
Carano respects the right to express his views on social media, even though it is different from him. However, the actions of the defendants are in stark contrast to the male players or male employees. Here are examples of discrimination treatment experienced by Carano, "said Gina Carano's lawsuit document.
"On June 27, 2020, (Pedro) Pascal uploaded two Disney Muppet characters, Bert and Ernie, as activists to fly transgender and LGBT+ flags and promote Black Lives Matter and Defund the Police," they said.
Disney has yet to respond to the lawsuit.
