Scavengers Recorded On CCTV While Stealing Iron Covering Waterways In Cakung

JAKARTA - A scavenger wearing a black sweater and trousers was caught on CCTV cameras stealing an iron culling covering a water channel in the Cakung area, East Jakarta.

In the CCTV camera footage, the perpetrator is seen walking and approaching the iron covering the waterway while carrying a ganco.

Initially, the perpetrator was seen only prying the iron pit with a ganco. However, after the iron pit was pryed out, he immediately opened the sack and put it in the grip.

"From CCTV, it seems that he has monitored the location, so it looks like he knows. Because only one iron covers the channel," said Indra, a local resident, Friday, October 18.

The theft occurred during the day when the location was quiet from residents' activities. No wonder the perpetrator managed to escape from the scene.
