Banjarbaru Police Arrest Thief 2 Cars Disguised By Parking Attendant During ULM Graduation
BANJBARU - Banjarbaru Police Resmob Unit Team, South Kalimantan Police Tiger Team, and Banjar Police Resmob Unit revealed allegations of fraud and/or embezzlement or theft of two cars during graduation activities at Banjarbaru Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM).
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Banjarbaru Police, AKP Haris Wicaksono, led the disclosure and a joint team that carried out an investigation in the field.
"From the disclosure of the theft case of the two cars, joint officers arrested one perpetrator with the initials MSR (27), a resident of Manap Lama Village, Kertak Hanyak District, Banjar Regency," said Head of Public Relations of the Banjarbaru Police, AKP Syahruji, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, October 17.
Syahruji said the joint team arrested the suspect MSR on Wednesday afternoon at around 17.00 WITA while in one of the Kertak Hanyar District complexes, Banjar Regency.
"When the officers were arrested, MRS did not fight back and seemed resigned when he was brought to the Banjarbaru Police," said Syahruji.
Meanwhile, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Banjarbaru Police, AKP Haris Wicaksono, said that the two cars confiscated from the perpetrators of the MSR type Toyota Kijang Innova 2.0 GMT 2016 were white and a black Mitsubishi X-Pander car at his house.
Haris revealed that the perpetrator disguised himself as a parking attendant during the ULM graduation event.
The perpetrator then asked the victim to hand over the car keys and secure valuables in the car with the excuse that it would be easy to manage the parking lot if there were other cars that were about to park.
However, the suspect took the vehicle away.

"The perpetrator admitted to doing it twice during the graduation ceremony on August 21, 2024, getting a black Mitsubishi X-Pander brand car and on October 15, 2024, he got a white Toyota Innova car," he said.
Based on the results of the interim examination, the perpetrator committed the act because he did not have a permanent job so that economic factors became the basis for committing these crimes.
Currently, the police are still developing the perpetrators and evidence that has been secured at the Banjarbaru Police Headquarters for investigation purposes.
The perpetrators were charged with Article 378 of the Criminal Code and or 372 of the Criminal Code or 362 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of five years.
