Police Arrest 7 Foreigners Spreading Sesat Aluran Regarding Imam Mahdi In West Pasaman

A total of seven foreign nationals (WNA) are suspected of spreading heretical sects related to Imam Mahdi in West Pasaman, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) were arrested.

"The joint team found as many as seven foreign nationals living in Wisma Bancah Tarok, Jorong Kampung Cubanak, Nagari Lingkuang Aua Timur, Pasaman District on Wednesday (October 16)," said West Pasaman Police Chief AKBP Agung Tribawanto at Simpang Empat, Thursday, October 17, confiscated by Antara.

According to him, those who were secured consisted of six British foreigners and one Norwegian foreigner.

"They have valid administrative documents based on their passport, but have a misguided purpose," he said.

The seven people are Anaya Kaur (6), Priya Kurji (37), Muhammed Abdullah Sufian (1), Khadijjah (3), Krilan (39), Sianna (8) who are British citizens and Osama (35) Norwegian citizens.

When asked about the purpose of his whereabouts, a foreigner on behalf of Osama alias Muhammad Bin Abdullah said his goal was to go to Indonesia or West Pasaman to visit Muhammad Qosim who is currently still in Jakarta to serve as Imam Mahdi.

He explained this based on his dream of meeting Allah SWT and being ordered to serve Muhammad Qosim to become Imam Mahdi as a leader of Muslims.

"To maintain a public order security situation so that it remains conducive, these foreigners have been taken to the Immigration Office of Agam Regency by Immigration officers," he said.

Pasaman sub-district head Andre Affandi said that currently the joint team is still monitoring information regarding the planned arrival of Muhammad Qosim, whose information is a Pakistani citizen and Osama will ignore it.

He also appealed to the public not to easily believe in unknown people, let alone have brought new or heretical beliefs.

"If this is found, please report it to the local government before things happen that are not desirable," he said

Meanwhile, the residents who have provided housing facilities for foreigners are planned to be given religious lectures by officers from the West Pasaman Ministry of Religion so that what they may have received in the last few days regarding this belief can be restored.

They have been in West Pasaman for about a week. Of course, this is the duty of the Ministry of Religion again to give religious lectures to our citizens who may have been at least exposed to the flow of trust," he hoped.
