Hunter's Moon, The Third Full Moon That Will Appear Today

JAKARTA The full moon will occur again on Thursday, October 17 at around 18.26 WIB. As part of the supermoon phenomenon, the moon, which looks full moon for three days, is referred to as Hunter's Moon.

Hunter's Moon is the third full moon to occur this year. Unlike the previous two full moons, Hunter's Moon has the brightest light. Therefore, this phenomenon can be seen more easily by astronomers.

The term Hunter's Moon has been recorded at the Oxford English Dictionary since 1710. According to the Farmer's Almanak, Hunter's Moon shows that the leaves have fallen and the deer have become fat because the harvest season in the Harvest Moon phase has passed.

When the fields have been harvested, the hunters can see the hunted animals easily. In some countries, this situation did occur so that the term Hunter's Moon was published in the 1930s. Over time, this term is known and widely used.

Quoting from Space, Eclipse Expert Fred Espenak explained that this full moon will be close to perigee, the closest point to Earth which is at a distance of 357,174 kilometers. This view can be seen in a short time in a strategic location.

Tidal tides will usually occur when the Moon and the Sun form a line that is aligned with Earth. Although tides will appear, this will not coincide with perigee. Most likely, tides will be delayed for several days.

Meanwhile, NASA explained that Hunter's Moon will be very clear in the West International Timeline zone on October 16 at night. Meanwhile, in New Zealand's time to the east to the International Time Line, this phenomenon will be seen on October 18 in the morning.
