Ahead Of Purnatugas, Water Salute Tradition Welcomes Vice President At Halim
JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Army (TNI) of the Air Force (AU) welcomes the arrival of Vice President Ma'ruf Amin at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, Wednesday afternoon, with the tradition of Watersalute.
The Secretariat of the Vice President explained that the tradition is a routine activity carried out by the Indonesian Air Force corps for vice presidents who will enter retirement.
"I thank you for your support so far for me as Vice President in carrying out state duties. Our task throughout Indonesia is going well thanks to the support from Squadron 45 and 17," said Ma'ruf in his remarks reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 16.
The Watersalute ceremony was held at Halim Perdanakusuma airport, welcoming Ma'ruf's arrival after a working visit from Indramayu, West Java, and will return to Jakarta using the Super Puma Presidential VVIP Helicopter.
Reporting from the official website of the Indonesian Air Force, the Watersalute ceremony was carried out by placing two fire engines on the left and right of the airport apron.
The two firefighters then sprayed water together to form an arch. At that time, the aircraft that was greeted would pass under the arch.
In this case, the procurement of the Watersaluted ceremony was presented as a form of respect and expression of gratitude from the Indonesian Air Force to Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, ahead of his retirement as Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2019-2024 period.

The vice president at the same time said goodbye to the Indonesian Air Force soldiers ahead of their retirement on October 20, 2024.
"Because this is probably the last one, the last trip, because after the 20th, tomorrow Sunday, I will no longer be the Vice President, once again I thank you for your support and apologize for all the shortcomings or mistakes that have been made to our entourage so that it is a lot of trouble for all of you.
