Vice President Asks Moratorium For The Opening Of Higher Education Study Programs To Be Reviewed
JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin asked the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology to review the moratorium policy for opening study programs (prodi) in universities.
The vice president said the public should be given wider opportunities to access higher education, especially in the required study.
"If there are programs that are really needed by the community, I hope that the Ministry of Education and Culture does not carry out a moratorium, so that everything gets the same opportunity, so that nothing else is hindered, hampered," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 16.
The moratorium rules that are being implemented, said Ma'ruf, should not hinder public access to relevant study programs and have great opportunities for benefits in today's era.
"If the pesantre language is not protected, because the rules are the hijab, so people cannot get something that will actually provide a lot of benefits to the community," he said.
Previously, the issue of the opening of the study program was complained by the Chairman of the Darul Ma'arif Foundation Development, Dedi Wahidi when delivering a report at the inauguration ceremony.
Dedi said studying at a study that was not in demand could cause students to become frustrated. For this reason, he requested that the moratorium on the opening of the study program, which is of great interest to students, be revoked.

"Furthermore, the moratorium on universities and leading commodities that are of great interest to students needs to be lifted immediately, so as not to hamper the acceleration of efforts to educate the nation in welcoming Indonesia Gold 2045. At the same time, universities that have no activities, please immediately be disciplined," he said.
Dedi explained that many of the leading programs are currently being moratorized, such as economics, law, and socio-political.
The main thing that is in demand by many prospective students is still being moratorized. Please write it down, so that it will be reviewed immediately to accelerate the growth of the quality of the Indonesian nation," he said.
