Bengkalis Kejari Destroys Thousands Of Pairs Of Shoes And Bags Resulting From Sastro Situmorang Crime

The Bengkalis District Attorney (Kejari), Riau, destroyed evidence in the form of thousands of pairs of shoes and used bags resulting from criminal cases that have permanent legal force by burning them on empty land.

The Head of the Bengkalis Kejari, Sri Odit Megonondo, said that the evidence that was destroyed was in the name of the convict Sastro Situmorang Als Sastro Bin Luspiter. The basis is the Bengkalis District Court Decision Number 473/Pid.Sus/2024/PN Bls, September 25, 2024, by destroying evidence of a criminal act of trade

"The destruction is in the form of 3,976 pairs of used shoes of various brands, types, sizes and colors and 8,170 used bags," he said.

According to Odit, the destruction of evidence aims to give a message to criminals, the state will not tolerate criminal acts. It will act decisively to maintain security and public order.

In addition, explained by Kajari, the destruction of evidence is not only a routine task, but also part of the commitment of the prosecutor's office. In this case to protect the public from the threat of crime and safeguarding state sovereignty.

Meanwhile, representing the Bengkalis Regency Government, Expert Staff for Human Resources Social Affairs, Johansyah Syafri appreciated the destruction of evidence carried out by the Bengkalis Kejari institution.

According to him, these activities are a deterrent effect for perpetrators and make the country of Junjungan safe from the circulation of illegal goods.
