Involved In Harassment Case, Taeil Ex NCT Contract Termination Agency

JAKARTA - SM Entertainment announced that Taeil's contract with them had expired since Tuesday, October 15. This news relates to Taeil who was involved in a sexual harassment case against a woman last June.

"This is SM Entertainment. We want to inform you that our exclusive contract with Taeil has ended as of October 15, 2024," said SM Entertainment as the agency that oversees Taeil with NCT.

They emphasized that Taeil is still undergoing investigations into criminal cases and is detrimental to his relationship and character as an artist.

"Taeil is being investigated by the prosecutor for criminal cases. This is not only the basis for contract termination but also makes trust in him as an artist can be maintained," he said.

"As a result, both parties agreed to terminate the contract. We sincerely apologize for the actions taken by Taeil, who was previously one of our artists," he said.

Taeil left NCT last August after alleged sexual harassment. In early October, he was said to have undergone an investigation because he was suspected of having raped two of his friends for a drunk woman.

This case has been reported since June, but only revealed in mid-September. Taeil is also still participating in activities with NCT 127 after hiatus for almost a year due to a motorcycle accident.

SM Entertainment only found out about this case in mid-August and Taeil began to fulfill the examination in the same month.
