Ganjar Will Attend Prabowo-Gibran Inauguration

YOGYAKARTA - PDI-P politician who is also a former presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo will attend the inauguration of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as President and Vice President on Sunday, October 20, 2024.

Ganjar when met at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Sleman, DI Yogyakarta, admitted that he had received the inauguration invitation letter.

"Yes, there is already (the law). God willing (present)," said Ganjar as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 14.

Meanwhile, when asked about the discourse of joining the PDI-P into the Prabowo Subianto government coalition, Ganjar said there had been no decision from the party bearing the white-nosed bull symbol.

"There has been no decision yet, the National Working Meeting has decided to hand it over to Mrs. Mega, we are waiting for a decision from Mrs. Mega," he said.

According to Ganjar, all PDI-P cadres are waiting for Megawati's decision on that.

"It's not up to (Megawati), but it's mandated by the National Working Meeting, so we are waiting for his decision," said the former Central Java Governor.

Apart from the decisions his party will take, Ganjar personally stated that he was still in his position to be outside the government so that the check and balance mechanism was maintained.

"I made a statement at the start and never shifted," he said.

"I never shifted and never made that statement," said Ganjar.

Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Ahmad Muzani said he had sent an invitation to inaugurate Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka as President-Vice President 2024-2029 to all presidential election candidates (Pilpres) 2024 namely Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.

"We have invited presidential candidates. We have invited Mr. Anies and Mas Ganjar and the vice presidential candidates," said Muzani at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Monday (14/10).

In addition to former presidential and vice presidential candidates, the MPR also invited President Joko Widodo, President for the 2001-2004 period Megawati Soekarno Putri, to President for the 2004-2014 period Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

The agenda for the inauguration of the elected president and vice president is scheduled to take place on October 20, 2024 at the Nusantara Building, MPR/DPR, Jakarta, on October 20, 2024 at 10.00 WIB.
