Shanghai Masters 2024: Djokovic Fails To Lock 100th Title

JAKARTA Serbian tennis player, Novak Djokovic, failed to claim his 100th title in his career after losing in the 2024 Shanghai Masters final.

Djokovic, 37, failed to achieve this feat after losing 6-7(7-4) and 3-6 against world number one from Italy, Jannik Sinner, on Sunday, October 13, 2024.

"I have to keep fighting to make it happen in the future," Djokovic said.

The Paris 2024 Olympic gold medal is the only title won by the tennis player with 24 Grand Slam titles in this year's calendar.

If you win a title in Shanghai, then Djokovic is the third tennis player in history to reach 100 titles after Jimmy WALLs (199) and Roger Federer (103).

"For me, this is not a goal of life or death. I think it has achieved all the biggest goals of my career. Right now the most important thing is Grand Slam and see to what extent I can exceed my own standards," said Djokovic.

This victory saw Sinner, who won the Australian Open and US Open 2024 titles, have won 65 of his 71 matches in 2024.
