Peparnas Final Standings 2024: Central Java Is The General Champion

JAKARTA - Central Java (Central Java) Province as the host of the XVII 2024 National Paralympic Week (Peparnas) managed to come out as the overall champion.

Peparnas XVII 2024 has been taking place in Solo since October 6, 2024 and has just closed on Sunday, October 13, 2024, evening WIB. The closing ceremony took place at Manahan Stadium.

Central Java topped the final standings for medals with a collection of 406. The number consisted of 161 gold medals, 121 silver medals, and 124 bronze medals.

West Java then followed in second place with a difference of 51 medals. West Java was recorded to have brought home 120 gold medals, 116 silver medals, and 118 bronze medals.

Meanwhile, DKI Jakarta Province followed the two regions to complete the top three positions. Jakarta recorded 39 gold medals, 29 silver medals, and 36 bronze medals.

In a row, Papua was in fourth place, which received 33 gold, 44 silver, and 40 bronze and North Sumatra which secured 28 gold, 26 silver, and 19 bronze.

At the Peparnas 2024 event, there were hundreds of national records and one record for Southeast Asia was broken.

In the sport, the total athletics resulted in 106 new national records. Another special record record was recorded by South Kalimantan athlete, Ahmad Fauzi, who broke Southeast Asia's record when competing in the men's F37 disc-throwing number.

In addition, there are 17 national records broken in the weightlifters' branches. Then, the swimming branch recorded a total of 22 numbers that surpassed the previous record.

So, in total, there are 114 national records and one Southeast Asian record that was broken in Peparnas 2024.
